"I have lived in Brighton, East Sussex since 1989. I am a fully qualified software engineer, and have been involved with computers in one way or another for over 20 years. My career started in Physical Sciences, and then I changed direction completely and qualified in Horticulture. But I was always a keen user of computer technology, and as the software industry grew I followed that passion and trained in Software Engineering, becoming a capable programmer.
In gaining my HNC in Software Engineering I was exposed to many Internet Technologies, which was a burgeoning business in East Sussex, and Brighton in particular. So I went to work for a Web Design company where I honed my skills in Server Side and Client Side web programming. I became proficient in CSS, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, and Perl. Later on I worked for a large Internet Service Provider, where I learnt a great deal about Server Administration, Apache, DNS, SMTP, and Bind.
Throughout my IT career I have picked up many hardware and Software related troubleshooting skills - from building, servicing and networking computers, to fixing a windows registry - and all the steps in between. I am at home with the Windows operating systems, and have a wealth of experience of using Apple Macintosh's OSX and Linux.
I am now Self Employed and offering my knowledge and experience as a service to computer users of all different levels - from those who find it all a bit overwhelming, to professionals. I can help through the liturgy of computer jargon and explain everything in straightforward English. If you are looking for a friendly and efficient service to sort out your computer related problems, please get in touch!"
